This is a list of all the books I’ve found that are written about being the CEO of a start-up or small company, where the author was (or is) the CEO of the company. These are the people who, by definition, know what they’re talking about.1
Why not books by CEOs of big companies like Bill Gates & Jeff Bezos? Because that job is worlds different from CEO of a start-up. They’re generally interesting, but have little that applies to running a company of 100 people. Or 10 people. Or 1.
If I missed any, please leave a comment and I’ll add it.
I think non CEOs can provide useful guidance. I found having a business coach to be a big help. But they haven’t lived the job and therefore they can’t speak to it with that understanding.
